LATEST UPDATES

Yes it’s true…

Very sad, but true, we have had to cancel Day Camp 2020. As we mentioned in the 16 March update, we have been waiting on updated government guidelines and now that they have arrived (Thursday 18 March) it's time to make the call. We really wanted to keep camp going if we could, but the timeframes are now just too tight, and the risks too high.

So what does this mean?

Firstly, everyone who has registered should already have received a generic email to confirm that camp has been cancelled. You will next get a second email from LilRegie (the site who handle our registrations) which will be to you personally, confirming that your registration has been cancelled from the system.

For Adult Helpers and Teen Leaders this means you need do nothing more, and we hope to have you back next year.

For Campers the situation is a little different because you've paid fees.

We will be returning fees but the speed at which this possible will vary a little. It will take a while to manually cancel each of the bookings (there are over 300 of you!) and then how you receive your refund will depend on your method of payment.

If you paid by credit card at the time of registration LilRegie will handle the refund via the credit card company - we have no control over how quickly this will occur, and nor do LilRegie, but be aware that there are a lot of events being cancelled right now so there could be delays.

If you paid by internet or bank transfer we will be in touch to get bank account details from you so that we can process that ourselves from the money you deposited into our account. This is in our control, but still may take some time to organise.

Finally...

Please do be patient with us. Day Camp is run entirely by volunteers, most of whom work during the day, so we can only work so fast. We appreciate the huge support the community gives us every year, and we love putting this event on for the kids. It was difficult to get to this point and have to stop, but we will be sure to make the next camp awesome.

We will be back - count on it!
